Canopy Neurodiversity Foundation is propelled by a passionate team united in the conviction that every Washingtonian deserves access to meaningful employment. Our team draws from extensive backgrounds in higher education, workforce development, finance, law, and technology — harnessing their combined experience to dismantle barriers and foster transformative partnerships.

The Canopy Neurodiversity Foundation values diverse community input to guide our work. We engage researchers, professionals, and most importantly, neurodivergent self-advocates to ensure our efforts reflect the needs and voices of those we serve.
Tara Cunningham (she/her)
Tara is one of the world’s leading experts in disability and neuroinclusion, and the founder of Beyond-Impact, a consultancy transforming how organizations recruit, onboard, and support disabled and neurodivergent talent. With decades of experience building inclusive workforce strategies for Fortune 100 companies, Tara’s work centers on equity, dignity, and access. She is also the Co-Founder of Yes! Access., a national disability justice campaign mobilizing communities across the U.S. to defend and advance the rights of disabled people.
Alexander Stern (they/them)
Alexander Stern is a dedicated advocate for the neurodivergent community with over 15 years in education, including instructional and executive function coaching for youth and adults. Their leadership across public and independent schools, as well as corporate settings, informs their work in supporting neurodivergent individuals through strengths-based strategies. Alexander has led workshops on neuroinclusive workplaces for employees, managers, and corporate leadership. They currently serve as a Dean of Students at Trillium Academy, a 2e school for gifted and neurodivergent students in Seattle.
Ben Wahl (he/him)
Ben has supported neurodivergent youth and adults for over 25 years. In 2005, he founded Aspiring Youth—Washington’s largest provider of social groups, camps, and coaching for students with autism and ADHD. To support aging students, he founded Delphi Young Adults Program (2013) for coaching and community activities, and later co-founded Thrive Seattle Living to provide inclusive, apartment-based independent living. Ben holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MSW from the University of Washington.
Peter Jung (he/him)
Peter brings 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent youth and young adults in diverse settings, as well as lived experience with a diagnosis of ADHD and autism. He has worked in community mental health, foster care, social skills, and educational settings, and has spoken internationally about supporting autistic socialization. He sits on a number of disability advocacy committees, and is a fervent believer in the social model of disability and how to support the principles of disability justice across various settings.
